On our last day in Pirenopolis – Goias! An early colonial breakfast is a welcome sight as its been along weekend. And as soon as we are ready, lets go to the “Araras waterfall”(Parrots fall). Some 18 km from town center it makes an excellent trip for the family or just for couples. With its 30 foot falls and 90m² natural pool its a great spot to spend the day swiming and bathing. The HighwayBrazil tip for Pirenopolis is to always take snacks (fruit- biscuits – sandwiches – and specially: WATER). With the temperatures baring 100 Fº during the day and some 65 Fº by night, adding the low humidity in the air, it’s always a very wise idea to drink lots of water before returning to town in the late afternoon.
Back in town, after a nature-filled walk, time for a quick shower and as soon as the sun sets, it’s time to head straight for the town center. With its colonial style architecture and recent investments in its hospitality industry, Pirenopolis has evolved to one of the best attractions in mid-west – with its inns and restaurants, becoming one of the favoured places to visit in mid-west Brazil. The town center habors several restaurants along with the small market/fair that sells typical craftswork, making it possible to find local/typical cusin as well as international dishes. The town harbors several festivals and festivities all year round, from religious festivities to cinema, music and beer festivals. As night sets in, it´s time to back to the road to Brasilia already planning our next trip. Heading for Brasilia international airport, Highway Brazil prepares itself for another breath taking trip.
