It’s not the peak of the summer season and it doesn’t carry all the hype of the beautiful sunny jam-packed beaches, but I still love the winter season in the southern hemisphere. In midwest Brazil the season stands for: no rain, lots of sun still, but an opportunity to explore nature – visit waterfalls, go trecking, rappelling, site seeing… all those outdoor activities we love.
Pirenóplis in the state of Goias/Brazil – 90 Km from Brasilia / the federal capital – is a an example of a brazilian colonial style town with all the charm and wormth the countryside can offer. With its typical centre – church courtyard and narrow brick roads it offers all that atmosphere of the rural brazilian heritage.
With dozens of waterfalls in the region and a sophisticated and modernized cusine which receives visitors in the town centre it makes a great break from the big city just an hour away from Brasilia – FD. Its a must for those who come to Brasilia and have a couple of days to spare from business in the city. Though there aren’t great hotel chains in the area, there are confortable accommodations with inns and bead ‘n breakfasts for all tastes and pockets.
Its a place for the familiy or for all those who appreciate lovely nature and calm and relaxing moments in the countryside.
