Castelhanos is a beautiful beach located in the state of Espirito Santo – Brazil. Not much known by foreign tourists is very popular among Minas Gerais state tourists making border with the state. The beach has 2 km long, being a charming and quiet place. It´s good for kids to play in the natural pools that form between the reefs during the low tide. The beach has great movement of tourists during the day, with kiosks serving the very best of the capixaba culinary. The beach has tables and chairs in the sand, tents, sun guards and many young and beautiful people. If you want a nice trail, the walk along the beach between Ubú and Castelhanos is perfect. An hour of hike that worth the fatigue. The look is splendid!
Another attraction in the area is the TAMAR project which helps in recovering of the population of sea turtles at risk of extinction. Following the northern beach tourists can visit one of the preservation centers. There you will find information, know more about the project and if you go in the right time you can still see the birth of the little turtles and their walk to life, the sea! Its amazing, eggs that fail to hatch receive a little help from activists and the childrens freeing the turtles for their journey. Throughout the month of January takes place the show of life!
